Supported Independent Living (SIL) offers participants the assistance they need to thrive in a home environment. Whether living in a shared setting or independently, SIL focuses on skill-building and creating a supportive, stable space for participants to flourish.
This support is especially helpful for individuals with higher needs, providing care throughout the day and, when necessary, overnight assistance. At Devoted Supports, we walk alongside each participant with compassion and a commitment to seeing them grow in confidence and capability.

Community Engagement

SIL Vacancy in Heathwood — One Room Available
One room is available in a shared supported independent living home in Heathwood, in Brisbane’s south-west. It’s a warm, relaxed household with day and overnight support.
The home
A comfortable, modern home in a quiet street in Heathwood. At the heart of the house is an open-plan kitchen, dining and living area, with a second lounge to retreat to and a covered patio opening onto a fenced backyard. Each resident has their own bedroom. The bathroom is set up for accessible use, with a roll-in shower, grab rails and a ceiling hoist, and there’s off-street parking at the front.
Current housemates
Two gentlemen in their 40s to early 60s share the home. Both are kind, gentle and witty, with great senses of humour. They love their fishing and their sport, and they’re good company. Our team knows both men well and supports them with a consistent, steady routine.
Who this home would suit
A man with SDA funding who’d enjoy a relaxed, friendly household — a meal together, the sport on, a chat about fishing. Someone who values consistency, a stable routine, and a team that communicates openly.
The support
Shared supports with day and overnight support. Trauma-informed, person-centred care, with shift notes and budgets visible in real time to participants, families and Support Coordinators.
