Embracing Devoted Supports Holistic Care
We believe that care goes beyond just the physical support that we provide. Our care is very much holistic – combining mind, body, and spirit. That’s why, as part of our onboarding process, we offer participants the opportunity for prayer requests. This is more than just a service; it’s a chance to invite something deeply personal into their journey of healing and hope.
Why prayer requests matter
Offering prayer is an invitation to something that has the potential to bring comfort, peace, and a sense of connection, especially for those navigating challenging times. We believe that prayer is a powerful force for healing and strength, and we want our participants to know they can turn to something meaningful, should they choose.
When we ask our participants, “Would you like to receive prayer as part of our service?” we’re extending a hand of compassion, recognising that every individual has their own spiritual needs and desires. It’s not a one-size-fits-all approach but a deeply personal choice, which we respect and honour.
At the heart of this offer is the understanding that we are here not only to meet physical and emotional needs but to stand alongside participants in their spiritual journey as well. This is just one way we live out our core values of Devotedness, Openness, and Dedication — recognising that everyone deserves care that meets them where they are.
Pray with care, faith, and respect
When prayer is offered, it’s never done out of obligation or routine — it’s done from a place of faith and hope. We pray believing that God’s will is for healing, peace, and freedom. The prayer process is life-affirming, focusing on gratitude, healing, and speaking life into the participant’s journey.
We encourage participants to engage in whatever way feels comfortable to them — whether that’s praying themselves, simply reflecting on what they’re thankful for, or asking God for forgiveness. It’s always about making space for them to experience God in a way that’s authentic and true to them.
Prayer as part of a holistic approach to care
Prayer is just one of the ways we offer holistic care at Devoted Supports. It’s about much more than just fulfilling a need; it’s about embracing the whole person — spirit, soul, and body.
We’re committed to creating an environment where every participant feels seen, loved, and supported in every way possible. Whether they choose to engage in prayer or not, we’re here to offer the kind of care that meets their deepest needs.
By offering prayer, we honour the diverse needs and beliefs of the people we support, ensuring that we stand beside them in their journey toward healing, peace, and freedom. In everything we do, we are committed to offering care that respects their autonomy and walks alongside them in love and compassion.
Ultimately, our prayer offering is about inviting something greater into our work — something that transcends competition and ego and instead focuses on collaboration, love, and unity.
